Q. How do I carry my Original BUG Pocket? A. The Original BUG Pocket is sewn to the center of your front ballistic panel carrier. Most officers have their uniform shops or their cleaners attach them. DO NOT SEW INTO THE BALLISTIC PANEL MATERIAL AS YOU MAY VOID THE WARRANTY ON YOUR VEST. Simple sewing instructions are included with each holster.

Q. How does the Fragmentation Panel work and will it protect my holstered gun? A. The fragmentation panel is designed to cover your gun and reduce the chances of an injury resulting from a ricochet or fragmentation. Additionally, because of its design and placement, it plays an important role in providing a smooth surface under your uniform shirt. The fragmentation panel is not designed to protect your gun from rounds. Such a design would be impractical for any backup gun holster because the panel would then have to be at least as thick as the lowest level ballistic panel on the market. Each BUG Pocket includes a Fragmentation Plate. |

Q. Aren’t holsters that clip or strap onto body armor the same as the Original BUG Pocket? A. Officers who use holsters that clip or strap onto body armor do so because they understand the discomforts and inaccessibility of pocket holsters, and the dangers and inaccessibility of leg and shoulder holsters. Have you ever tried drawing from a clip on holster with the same hand on the side that the holster is clipped to? How many times have you stood up from a seated position and had to reach down and adjust your pant leg so that your leg holster is covered? In addition to addressing all those concerns, including virtual concealment and security, the Original BUG Pocket is easily accessed with either hand and provides the added safety feature with the ballistic fragmentation panel. Should your gun in those other clip or strap on holsters be struck by a round, you are almost certain of being injured by a ricochet or a bullet fragment. Not so with the Original BUG Pocket. |

Q. I have two ballistic panel carriers, can I buy one Original BUG Pocket and transfer it from one carrier to the other without sewing it on? A. Absolutely NOT. As you’ll see, there are serious safety concerns if you choose to do so. As we were developing the Original BUG Pocket, we experimented with pre-setting Velcro on the backside of the Original BUG Pocket and on two ballistic panel carriers. It wasn’t long before normal wear and tear and washing, compromised the cohesiveness of the Velcro. This prompted concern that the weight of the gun during a foot pursuit or altercation would unexpectedly disengage the entire unit. Additionally, as it happened during testing, should you need to draw your backup gun, you are likely to pull the entire holster off your front panel without actually accessing your backup gun; what’s the solution? Order two and sew an Original BUG Pocket on each ballistic panel carrier. |

Q. What size gun will fit in the Original BUG Pocket? A. Any gun that is commonly used as a backup gun will fit in the holster. |
||
Q. Can I wear my trauma plate with my Original BUG Pocket? A. One of the great concealment features of the Original BUG Pocket is that your backup gun will mold to your ballistic panel. This feature, coupled with the fragmentation panel that is included with the Original BUG Pocket, allows your gun to present a smooth surface under your uniform shirt and not protrude as one might expect. Should you choose to utilize a hard trauma plate rather than a soft one your gun will not be allowed to mold to your vest, and therefore will conspicuously protrude forward. |

Q. How do I know if the Original BUG Pocket will fit my ballistic panel carrier? A. The Original Bug Pocket is available in two sizes, small and regular. A size small measures 8½” wide by 9 ½” tall, and the regular size measures 9½” wide by 10½” tall. Measure your front ballistic panel carrier to determine which size would be most appropriate. |
